iH8Sn0w, a renown iOS hacker has posted a video on YouTube demonstrating an untethered iOS 8.1.1 jailbreakon iPad 3 (J2a model). This is a significant progress on iOS 8.1.1 jailbreak since Apple has already patched several key vulnerabilities used in the Pangu iOS 8-8.1 jailbreak with the release of iOS 8.1.1 firmware.
